Aggedor-dor-dor...

...push pineapple, shake the tree, aggedor-dor-dor, push pineapple, grind coffee... hmm. Moving swiftly on...

The Doctor's first trip to Peladon was screened in an omnibus format on Sunday 18th April 1993, sandwiched between an episode of children's TV comedy Rentaghost and the 1946 British film Green For Danger...

Doctor Who: The Curse of Peladon
UK Gold - Sunday 18th April 1993 (9.00am-10.50am)

Prior to Doctor Who, UK Gold gave viewers a look ahead to that evening's line-up of programming - four British TV shows and an American movie:

They also trailed the aforementioned film Green For Danger (shown as part of the channel's Weekend Film Festival strand) and the 1975 BBC miniseries Anne Of Avonlea, starring Kim Braden in the titular role.

And now...

The UK Gold Guide To Creating An Omnibus Version Of A Doctor Who Four-Parter (that's the catchiest title I could come up with, readers)

1) Remove the opening titles of the second, third and fourth episodes. Also, edit out the episode caption of the first episode - it'll just confuse the viewers.

2) Remove the closing credits to episodes one, two and three. Fingers crossed there won't be a major guest actor who gets killed off at the end of episode three and subsequently remain uncredited for the fourth episode; that's assuming the BBC haven't sent you a version that's already been cut down with newly-created-and/or-crappily-edited credits added.

3) Join the bits together to create one long feature-length movie version, then put your commercial breaks in, taking care not to cut before the cliffhanger has actually played out. Easy, huh?

Thanks for viewing. And remember, WhoGold needs you - if you have any recordings of Doctor Who (or other programmes) from UK Gold, keep them safe and get in touch. Until next week...
