Just four videos left. It's the end, but the moment has been prepared for...
Don't Mention Mel
Here's a rather cringeworthy contribution from comedian Andre Vincent, talking about the female assistants he'd most like to bang. Not content with slagging off poor Bonnie Langford, he goes on to tell us about 'Layla' who wore a 'skimpy leather bikini', and the Fifth Doctor's Australian companion 'Teh-gan'. Ugh.
Sylvester McCoy (1987-89)
The man in charge of a sinking ship. But would any of us lay the blame at his door? Not me. Contributions come from Andrew Cartmel, Nicholas Courtney, Gary Russell, Antony Wainer, Clayton Hickman, Dale Who, Mark Campbell, and Sylvester himself. For some reason, Dragonfire won the fan vote. Better than Fenric? Really?! Still, they go to the trouble of explaining the completely bat-shit ending to part one, which is nice...
The Time Lady
Would Doctor Who work with a woman in the title role? Well, back in 2003, Arabella Weir gave it a go in 'Exile', a spin-off audio adventure released by Big Finish Productions. Giving their views with Arabella are Peter Purves, Rachel Wallis, John Ainsworth, Kim Newman, Dick Fiddy, Nicholas Briggs, Mark Campbell, Karen Davies, Gardner Goldsmith and an uncredited fan who must remain nameless (unless she wants to e-mail in).
You might spot Arabella talking about her friend who is a "huge fan of Doctor Who". You might also spot one of her 'Exile' co-stars is her friend and former lodger, 32-year old Scottish actor David Tennant... now whatever happened to him?
The Time Lord's Coming Back
It's the end of UK Gold's marathon anniversary weekend, so what better way to finish off than by looking to the future? On 26th September 2003, a new BBC series of Doctor Who had been announced, to the delight of many. But who should play Who in the 21st century? There's no suggestion of Christopher Eccleston, but a few believed the show should pick up where it left off, with the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann).... and given how brilliant he was in the TV movie, could you blame them? Contributors include Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Barry Letts, Wendy Padbury, Louise Jameson, Jon Culshaw, David J Howe, Gary Russell, Clayton Hickman, Jenney Stacy, Gardner Goldsmith, Andrew Green, India Fisher, Steve Berry, Hilton Fitzsimmons, Andrew Beech and John Leeson as K-9.
Well, that's the end of this special four-part retrospective, which has brought you nearly two hours worth of new videos, all produced by Free@LastTV for UKTV - hope you enjoyed them. WhoGold will be back in a few weeks time with some rare continuity from a 1999 screening of a story starring Patrick Troughton! Yes, the Second Doctor! A rare treat. But which? Find out soon...
